Updated Covid Safety Policy

BCLL Spring 2021 COVID Protocols (Softball/Baseball)

Bridgewater Community Little League (BCLL) would like to thank our families for your support. This protocol is BCLL’s attempt to follow the state and local guidelines. BCLL reserves the right to amend or change these guidelines should federal/state or local guidelines change. We would like to ask for your patience as we navigate through these very trying times and work to provide all children an opportunity to safely play softball and baseball. Our number one concern is the health and safety of our players and their families.

  1. All teams are required to have a designated individual (can be existing manager, coach or team mom). The responsibility of the designated individual is the following:
    1. Administer a health check screening for players and coaches before each event (practices and games)
    2. Ensure players remain socially distanced and wear face coverings while not on the field.
  2. Before each event, parents must complete a health check screening for each child with the team’s designated individual.
  3. All players must use their own equipment including gloves, helmets and bats.
  4. Players must bring their own water/drink to practice/games. No shared drinks or snacks will be permitted at any event. Please label your child’s drink container with their name to avoid confusion with any players.
  5. All players must wear a face covering when approaching the field and leaving the field for all events when unable to social distance. Face coverings may be removed when playing on the field and when players are socially distanced from other players and coaches.
  6. All coaches must wear a face covering when approaching the field and leaving the field for all events when unable to social distance, when meeting with the umpire, and when they are unable to maintain 6 ft of social distance between players, spectators and other coaches.
  7. All spectators must wear a face covering when approaching the area of play and concession stand and when they are unable to maintain 6 ft of social distance between others.
  8. All volunteers in the concession stand must wear a face covering at all times.
  9. Each team will be given game and practice balls. When on the field, your team may only use the balls that were provided to your team. We ask that these balls please be washed/disinfected as often as possible.
  10. Players and coaches are asked to wash and disinfect their hands before and after all events.
  11. For all events, parents and spectators MUST sit along the 1st and 3rd base foul lines or around the outfield fence using their own seats. No spectators will be allowed in the area directly behind home plate.
  12. There will be no handshakes between teams after the game.
  13. The consumption of sunflower seeds by players, coaches and spectators is prohibited.
  14. STAY HOME WHEN APPROPRIATE: If a spectator, player, volunteer, or coach is feeling sick, showing symptoms of COVID, has come into close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID, or themselves have tested positive for COVID, we ask that we all use common sense and follow the guidelines below:

a. As a parent, if your child is sick, showing symptoms of COVID, has come into close contact with someone that has tested positive for COVID, or has tested positive for COVID, do not bring them to practice or games.  Please notify the coach if any of the above apply to your child.

b. If any parent, spectator, coach, volunteer, player or any person involved with practices or games, or BCLL in general, may have COVID or tests positive for COVID, we ask that you follow CDC guidelines for isolation and/or quarantine.
